It took a while, but now I have 2003 XJR donor, which I drove to garage.
So in springtime or within few months (allready on ebay) I have free 3.9 Ls engine, modified to suit Xj8 and working 5hp24, which needs service (in my opinion).
That was the way to solve my needs.
This is cutting hairs; But as I week ago showed my new situation to the local grand legend, he said that Mercedes has not been manufacturing gearboxes, so this is "the other", not ZF.
It has been announced to be manufactured by Daimler AG and Chrysler LLC.
Strong it is, but still yesterday I found a writing, it should be cheked around 80k miles..or it usually "lasts" that much without broblems.
It is not in car so why not open it?
I cheked Avos story again, and he said heīs XKR has 190k mile at the time.
That would be nice to know if You can get such a miles without complete stripping?
