Default 1999 XJR Boot locked out of boot

Hello,

Bought the 1999 Jaguar XJR with only a green valet key. Same with a remote but has never worked. My son borrowed the car and somehow it is now stuck in valet mode, which means I can't open the boot. I have tried everything to fix the remote with zero luck. Just ordered a new black key and the dealership programed it. The black key will turn to the right, but not the left to open the boot. No pass way behind the rear seat. So, how do I get my boot open ??

Best Regards

Barry

Keep spraying lube into the boot lid lock and keep working the lock cylinder.

Remove the license plate and use a long thin screw driver to pop the latch.
A small flash light will help you "aim" the screwdriver.

If all the linkage is still connected a key and lubricating the lock will work otherwise
the license plate upper right license plate mounting hole is your best bet.
