2003 XJR! Issues and Horsepower
I have a lead on a 2003 Jag XJR with 42,000 miles (67,000 KM). If the pre-inspection is good, I will likely purchase the car unseen. It is a good price, and the mileage seems low. Are there any issues with a 2003 XJR that I should check for once I recieve the car?.
Also, while searching, I have found variations on the horsepower ratings of the 2003.
. I was under the impression that all the 1998-2003 XJR's had 370 HP (US model), but some of the ads are quoting 380 and 390 HP for a 2003. Can someone confirm?
Thanks for any advice and knowledge.

I believe in England MY 2003 is the x350 or new body style with a 4.2 supercharged and 6 speed auto. I believe US spec 2003 are all x308 body style and have the 4.0 liter supercharged 370 hp, atleast mine is anyway.
My 2003 xjr in the US is a 4.0 with 370. I would be prepared to pay a lot to service the brakes if they are brembo...part of the R1 performance package. The rotors are really expensive, with the best price I have found at around $350 each, with the dealer cost of twice that or more. I have one car with brembo and one without. The brembo brakes look cool, stop great, and are probably better on the race track. The standard brakes are fantastic for the driving I do, and are no more expensive to service than my chevy truck brakes. I will say the milan wheels that come with the brembo package are the coolest wheels ever made, and make the extra cost of the brake job worth it.
Thanks for the info - This model doesn't have the Brembo brake package. Personally I prefer the look of the asteroid wheels, and if we all had the same preferences, it would be a boring world.
