98 VDP versus 98 XJ8
 

Hello

I am new to this forum and have a 1998 VDP and have an opportunity to purchase a 98 XJ8 for a parts car. From the pictures the interiors look the same. I was told that the XJ8 is short wheel based and the VDP is long wheel based and one of the items I do need is the instrument panel. Can someone tell me the major differences please. Thanks for your help

My mistake the question should read 1998 VDP versus 1998 XJ8. My biggest concerns are the interior parts especially the dash and front console etc. I hope this didn't confuse anyone.

Anything infront of the "B" pillars will be the same geometry, likewise with anything from the rear seats ("C" pillar) back. The floorpan between the "B" pillar and "C" pillars and the rear doors are longer on the VDP. The I/P stucture is likely to be the same but the wiring could be different. With regard to the colour make sure you check the 3 digit codes for both interiors as some of the colours are very close to each other.
