Auto-on headlight sensitivity
 

My '02 VDP waits too long at dusk to turn the lights on--long after most other cars have theirs on and I become hard to see. I don't remember either of our '99s having this issue. The owner's book shows a sensitivity knob on the back of the mirror, but it seems to have no effect. Any ideas on how I can get the lights to come on sooner?

Cover a portion of the daylight sensor with something like black electricians tape so less light gets to it. If you do it right, it will not be noticeable.

You may have to adjust how much you cover to get the lights to come on earlier, but not stay on all the time.

This may affect your cooling system too because I am pretty sure the car uses data from the sensor to adjust for sunny, hot days.
