Colored engine covers inquiry.
On this forum I've seen a X308 w/ red covers in the engine bay. Today I went to the local import shop & low & behold there was a 2001 in there that had glorious British racing green covers ?! I must have these lol anyone have a clue as where to find them @ ? I'm speaking on the 3 covers that are the coolant reservoir, tool kit etc. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology in my search by using "cover".
Thanks |
Were they just painted? or were they actually molded in that color? It wouldn't take much to paint those, just clean, and spray, really.

I didn't want to pry about whom the owner was so I could get info. on the trim. Don't want the mechanics' @ the water cooler whispering "There's Charles the Jaguar stalker " lol. |
I hope you didn't thin I was refering to ypu regarding the taste. That was more so for those who need CF on a luxury car... Kind of like goldplating diamonds... ;)

Seem painted to me, at least should be easy to do in the color you want. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...1b62cbc7d8.jpg |

It isn't hard to paint them. First a good paint base, something allowing the paint to stick to ABS plastic. Then loads of filler. After that, paint it in the colour you want and put some clear spray over it... Done... Polish it all to a nice shine and you have that picture in your desired colour :)

Those above are a vinyl wrap job, looking at the center one there's an unstuck area...

Good call ! Yeah the gloss was a bit too uniform to my eye as well.
