Welcome to the forum allanacg,

There's some unusual products come out of Jaguar Special Vehicles but I've never seen an XK8 badged as a Daimler.

Either the code reader is giving you false information or you aren't using the Jaguar DTC tables to interpret the codes. What are the actual error codes?

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

So is this problem with the V8 (X308) or the XK8 (X100)?

I've moved your question from XK8/XKR to X308 forum and edited the thread title from XK8 to XJ8.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

First post the code from the reader as it is. The interpretation of codes by the reader are usually wrong for Jaguars. The code numbers are Jaguar specific and not generic. Second Clear the code and the clean the battery connections. ground strap connections and have the battery tested. Weak batteries and bad power connections throw all types of weird code numbers.

If you get a code for throttle body positioning sensor (fairly common, happened to me, and car says "gearbox fault" when it happens even though nothing to do with transmission) you'll need to swap the entire throttle body unit ($1k usd for rebuilt unit)
