To properly fix that damage required a new hood .. and I'm guessing a new fender. Did they paint anything? don't see how $800 gets any painting.
Nope just a new hood, latches, locks, cables. not a fender.

So, you got him a used hood (same color?) ---- I pay $150.00 to get small dents taken out .. wholesale! (paintless)

That fender required more work .. just the fender -- and he did all the other work?

When a hood get hit like that -- especially the Jaguar with all the alignment points up front -- it becomes very difficult to get it set without replacing most of the front subassembly. Everything gets bent -- all the lights and hinge points. The fact they you needed new latches tells me stuff was bent.

The the colour was blue of the used hood. I mean that's all he did.

That was really minor damage, for 700 beans + hood it should look oem when their done - that place is criminal - if you paid by credit card then file a dispute for the entire amount claiming they returned a car without doing the work.

Are you out of your mind ?? And you are from NYC?

I could not get the fender fixed for $800 .. repainting a bumper with RR in NYC is more.

I might be out of my mind, lol, but the body work like that and painting (not good painting mind you) could be done in dozens of places here for $300-400 using bondo (retaining original parts) and without working too hard to find a good deal. It won't look Jaguar-quality when their done, more like Maaco, but apparently neither did his $700 job.

If you are in my neck of the woods I can refer you to a bunch of places with those kind of rates...

I'd be doing what Vector said, "...see you in small claims court." Those fenders fit better just after the accident, then after he "did his job". If he calls you being picky for work like that, then I'd be contacting the county court house to file the paperwork.

What was the condition of the used hood? -- they are typically not perfect.

Getting those headlights and hood to align is not a bolt together proposition.

I'm glad I don't have to work with you guys -- You paid for a couple hours of labor on top of a couple of paint work. At $800 dollars the guy is already underwater.
