ok...thats a great idea I think I can handle myself - just solder the bridge and plug it in. Seems easy. Problem is that when I attempted to insert a paper clip "in both relay1 and 2" it just sparked a bit when inserted - turning the kay afterwards and try to crank...but no change. So I guess this points at the a faulty pump or connection elsewhere.

I have lots of good advises to follow - not all I can do myselv bc lack of knowledge but am tyring to convince my mechanic to do the job .

If I need to check if the relays are actually working/clicking - can I connect them to second battery or how do I do that ? - as mentioned earlier I have only used my amp-meter to check for bridge connection between 30/87 at the relay.

thanks

Connect 12V to the relay pins 1 and 2 (or 86 and 85, if that is how they are marked) and listen for the clicks.

If the schrader valve is working when pushing a scewdriver into the hole and it sprays up with gasoline..seems like there is plenty of pressure - but did not messure it in PSI.

Question is: if pressure is okay on the schrader valve (test fuel valve from the engine room)- does this indicate that the fuel pumps are intact ?

...just before I order two pumps.

What point in another direction is that I do not hear a clear sound from the pump in the trunk when turning the ignition on...so that tells me the pump is not working.

I know things are complicated and it can be many things like bad connection etc..as you guys already guided me.

Just wanted to know if the test valve is working - what does is say about the 2 pumps conditions ?

Thanks again

When you turn the ignition on, only the Pump 1 will briefly, for just a few seconds and stop. Difficult to hear it when it runs for such a short period of time. You cannot test Pump 2 using the ignition key. As suggested earlier, make a short jumper wire with spade terminals at each end and plug it into the sockets of the two pumps, one at a time, and listen for the pump sound at the filler neck while having the flap pushed open with a screw driver. You don't need to switch the ignition on for this test.

Without a pressure gauge, you cannot tell how healthy the pumps are. The fuel sprays out from the schrader valve but how strong it sprays?

good point and thanks...I have tried jumping the replay without any results...besides some sparks when inserting the paperclip. I will try with the spades ends as you suggest and see if this changes anything.

Before that I have tested the relays with as 12a batteri - and they both clicks nice.

Also, seems like I need to find a fuel pressure gauge to test. Anybody know how much psi it should be ?
