So I've been slowly rehabilitating a 2003 x308 XJR over the last six months. I'm now on the heater and I I believe I've narrowed it down to the heater control valve... See image. I've removed the heater control valve for now and directly routed the hoses. In this configuration, I have high heat all the time (which is great for winter). I'm looking to confirm - did I do this correctly? Is this the right way to route the hoses for winter? Is the hose that I've labeled "Coolant feed, from engine" correctly labeled? Are the other two correctly labeled?
I had seen another thread from years ago that suggested the correct routing was to connect the two top hoses together and the two bottom hoses together, which is NOT what I did. As far as I can tell that would just create a loop with no heat, right?
