Injector Electrical connections--How to undo

I'm in the process of replacing the two notorious under-the-intake-manifold heater hoses on my 2001 XJ8 VDP. But I don't know how the electrical connectors to the individual fuel injectors disconnect. I see the wire clips, do you squeeze the wire clip to release the connector, or do you pull the clip away to release? I don't want to break anything, so thought I better ask first.

All input appreciated, photos would be a bonus!

By pressing the long metallic bar to the center or just squeezing , this forces the D shaped clips down and outward away from engagement

This is a EV - 1 type connector

Thank you LP, I assumed as much but was way too unsure to rely on assumption!

I try again tomorrow.

Thank you again.

The metal clips can also be popped loose. A gently pry underneath with a small screwdriver pops them up and "unlocks" them without completely removing them.

Just have some long tweezers or a magnet handy if one goes flying with this method or worst of all, goes under the intake manifold.

Thank you everyone for your inputs..............once I pressed hard enough (with confidence gained from advice posted here) the connectors "click" undone. I guess I was just being too cautious, some of these Jaguar electrical connectors are crazy fragile and I am so careful not to break them for fear of consequential problems galore!
