I did not shoot much photos of my cruiser yet. From those I have this is in my opinion the most exciting.

If you've ever looked into your mirrors, and out of the windscreen,
and all you see is water... it's crazy!

My wife owns what appears to be the exact car 2000 year in the same color. Your pics are the only other I`ve seen of this model. Just beautiful.

Come on X308 friends! Keep the sexy photos coming!

This was taken in my university's parking lot, where my car lives.

the XJR's just seem to pull off the look so much better than the XJ8's in my eyes

Ipc838 05-02-2013 12:37 AM

The thing is, I the most expensive model of the range stands the test of time best in my opinion. Like the 07 Volvo S80 V8 looks much better now than the base 3.2, bigger wheels, more posh grille, etc.

I love the XJ8's looks too, but these days the bigger wheels are a standard. On its own the XJ8 is a perfect look, it's just that society dictates we need bigger wheels. I love the looks of the whole range, the base Vanden Plas looks great to me, the XJ8, all perfect. Parked next to other cars though I think the 18" wheels make the car a bit more appealing (relatively speaking).

MY KITTY'S....PERSONALLY I THINK THESE CARS LOOK AMAZING WITH 20 INCH RIMS.

wow the white looks sharp on these cars, but i agree with the 20's. the 20" Detroits that are on XJR Prototype's car look lush, makes my XJ8 with stock 16's look like crap.

This is my Daimler on the Nürburgring, the legendary Nordschleife, often referred to as "Green Hell".

Hard to drive this cruiseship around the sharp bends at high speeds. But it looks appealing and the ride was fun anyway. :icon_headbang:

What track times were you able to get in the Daimler? How was the understeer/oversteer? Get any funny looks from other drivers?

I'm curious since we have basically the same car, and it was harder to keep the car under control on hard turns when I had the OEM 16" rims on mine.

@burmaz:

Sorry, I didn't have an eye on the track times. I was on the Nürburgring together with other enthusiasts from the forum ( you might like to read this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/e...-2013-a-88015/ ). As most of us, including me, were the first time ever on the Nordschleife the aim was just to experience the ride with the own Jag and have a good time.

However I can answer your second question. The Daimler more tends to oversteer than to understeer. At the first two laps there were a couple of situations where I underestimated a bend and the rear of the Daimler tried to pass the front :D

I bet there were some funny looks from others. But I was too busy to keep the Daimler on the track to notice them :)

@L80OUS: awesome pictures!

I recently got a couple of pics of my old X308 XJR taken at a track day that I attended last September... I was surprised how well it handled, considering it had the US spec comfort suspension.
