Does anybody have the K40 Radar Detector installed in their XJR, if so how does it work?

I founded the switch, where I can select "OFF" "CITY' & "HWY", the two led on the dash, but thats about all. I've looked on the front and rear bumper, nothing there that will allow it to detect a radar.

I know this is old technology and was looking to contact K40 to see if I can get a upgrade unit.

The dealership I purchased the car from has no clue, as they got the car from a auction.

Any insight would be appreciated.

My car came with it installed. The front unit is behind the grill (to the left of the radiator) and the rear unit is just under the bumper. The unit has never worked but the technology is so old that i would never trust it to warn me anyway.
