found this old thread with hood latch stuck on Right/pass side...but my car has the driver side hood latch stuck/not releasing and the above instructions arent working.

A Kind of friend owns a body shop..my "friend " seems to think he can fix it...before I take the car there, I would like to at least be able to give him a little direction on how to fix it....I cant believe that Jaguar wouldnt make some kind of provision for opening the hood in the event of a broken cable.

OR is this a repair I should leave for the dealer?

The only other thing I would add is to first apply pressure to the hood above the latch that is not opening as another person attempts to open it from inside. The other option is to go in from the inside fender.
