New JTIS21 CD download with download instructions
New JTIS21 CD Self extracting Archive files on my Mediafire account.
Here is the information you need to download the files: 1st download the instructions PDF file (Mediafire download & Extract instructions for JTIS 21.pdf). Read the instructions PDF file (Mediafire download & Extract instructions for JTIS 21). Then download the 3 archive files. Run the JTIS 21 CD.part1.exe (this is self extracting file that extracts all the files in the 3 archives). This JTIS 21 CD covers XJ model years 1995 thru and including 2004, XK model years 1997 thru and including 2004, S type model years 1999.25 thru and including 2004, and X type model years 2001.50 thru and including 2004.25 Also there is a separate Technical Guides -- This is an optional download (JTIS 21 CD Technical Guides.exe). It is also a self extracting Archive. It has 15 PDF files in it. Also cover AJV8, 5HP24, updates for XJS, XJ, XK, X300, etc. It is about 109 megs after extraction. If you extract the files onto your C drive, then you run the setup.exe from your C:\JTIS21 folder. You will be now using the JTIS21 database files in the C:\JTIS21 folder and you will no longer need to put the CD into your CD drive. Also the C:\jaguar\jjtis.exe is updated after running setup.exe to use the database files in C:\JTIS21 folder. IF you already have the DAO350.dll registered and working. You did not have to run the Disk1/DAO350/setup.exe. Here is the link to the downloads: http://www.mediafire.com/?54tdwq3vx0xub Update - mediafire.com problems downloads of large split archive files - they request a download fee. Use the following dropbox.com download links for JTIS21 all models archive files: Part1.exe is 190 mb (195313 kb) https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvdg6rsl63...CD.part1.exe?m Part2.rar is 190 mb (195313 kb) https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwx4uch8m9...CD.part2.rar?m Part3.rar is 58.9 mb (60318 kb) https://www.dropbox.com/s/xk49mq38ch...CD.part3.rar?m Please PM or post in this thread, anything that you feels needs improvement and any other advice you can give on the instructions, etc. Thank you for your interest in my JTIS 21 project. Is there any known workaround for DAO with x64 bit systems?
|
Yes there is.
It depends on what Windows 64 bit operating system you have whether or not you have to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or ultimate version. Then install JTIS in "XP" mode, then use Windows Virtual PC to view it in XP mode. If you have to upgrade, then you will have to pay Bill Gates $75 for the W7 upgrade 32 bit addon to your windows os (there are win7 professional upgrade keys that have been leaked and posted on the internet, not that I am recommending that you use them). Another alternative is to buy forum member iguide - Jaguar XJ shop repair manual PDF files for member discount price of $25 see iguide posting in this board). This is an extract from one of this forum's thread post on this issue: I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I followed the instructions for installing the XP Mode and Virtual XP that are found on the Microsoft website regarding downloading virtual XP. You can also find these instructions in the book: Windows 7: Inside and Out from Microsoft Press. Once XP Mode is launched you install JTIS just as described in the ReadMe file on the CD and it works perfectly. I have the instructions from the book stored on PDF if anyone would like to see it but,it is also available right on the MS website. Forum member - salbrechtnh 4/24/2011 |
Hi Jim,
I just wanted to check in with you. I returned from Chicago day before yesterday, but I've been sick ever since. I'll try to find all the info you were asking about and get you what I remember. Thanks for creating this thread, as I know a lot of people needed help with it all. Stephen |
I just loaded up your downloads of JTIS...thanks alot, worked on MS Vista like a champ.

Are you running Vista 64 or 32? I am running MS Vista 64 on a Dell Core I7 machine. have been having a problem trying to get the older Forum JTIS to load, especially the DAO File install. Have tried numerous times and keep getting frustrated. |
I'm running Vista 32 bit. I installed the dao setup, then the ...........exe setup. I had problems on my xp running the "old JTIS" getting errors and so forth, but finally got it to load on my pc and work. I just got this laptop with Vista and expected problems loading. With the "new JTIS21" it went right. I understand there is some sort of work around for 64 bit but didn't have it so didn't look into it.
|
Thanks - I'll go ahead and load it as as 32 Bit operation in lieu of 64 Bit.

There is alot of member help and detailed assistance for installation of this program on Windows Vista and 7 here in a previous thread. Just in case....

Hello
Since this tread now has 9 other postings, you need to go post#1 for the Mediafire website link to the JTIS21 download files and the how to information. Jim Lombardi |

JTIS21 - Help File & More How to Find the Repair Info
Hi bluerdg
The JTIS Help File is located the C:\jaguar folder. File name is jtis.hlp You should be able to open the Help File either: by using the top menu bar (File Edit Search Navigate View Help) and selecting Help. Or by using the ?Help icon button from the icons buttons listed below the top menu bar. Both of these methods should work, I tested both of them on my wife PC -1st from the Placement on the JTIS on her hard drive, then later from the Placement of the JTIS on a CD from the installation process. Your other issue I should have explained in the "how to use the JTIS instructions" PDF file. I will add the following to the PDF file. The reason you can not find the Engine Cooling information is that the Engine Cooling section 303-03A for the Range Model XJ is only in the Model Year 1998 (and not in 1999-2003 Model Year Selections). Looks like the JTIS does not repeat a section unless something changes in that section. So Range Model XJ for Range Years 1999-2003 do not have section 303-03A. You have to use 1998 model selection for your Engine Cooling source of information. Also in Range Model XJ Years 2000-2003 in Engine section 303-01 In Vehicle Repair subsection, there is only 1 repair listed - oil pressure switch. In the XJ model section for the 1998 year, the In Vehicle Repair subsection (Engine Section 303-01) has a long list of repairs listed alpabetically from Connecting Rod Bearing through Variable Camshaft Bearings Oil Control Unit Housing. The XJ model section for the 1999 year, the In Vehicle Repair subsection (Engine Section 303-01) also has a long list of repairs listed alpabetically from Connecting Rod Bearing through Valve Cover RH. Something must have changed between 1998 and 1999. I have 3 JPEG files I created from screen captures of the section listings for 1998, 1999 and 2000. I will add them to this thread if anyone wants me to do that. Your repair issue: leak in a coolant hose somewhere under the fill tank Open XJ 1998 model selection, then use View menu and Text Nagivator option, then open: 3: Powertrain, then 303-303A: Engine Cooling, then Removal and installation, then Coolant Expansion Tank (26.15.01) - this will open the repair procedure. In the removal section of the procedure: 5. Release the hoses (Quick Fit connections) from the expansion tank. Release the hose, expansion tank to thermostat housing (coolant outlet pipe on supercharged engines). Release the hose, expansion tank to recovery tank. Release the hose, expansion tank to radiator. There appears to be 3 hoses to look at it for leaks from the expansion tank. Also check to see if there are any holes or cracks in the expansion tank. Hope this helps Jim Lombardi |

Hi bluerdg
Which of these 2 options in the JTIS21 install did you use (Burn a CD or Put the files on the PC hard drive)? Just curious. Jim Lombardi |

EDIT: I just realized I may not have the newest JTIS that is listed on the first post. I'll see if I can find them and upload a link. |
Hi
Apparently the link address was changed. Here is the new link to the JTIS downloads on my mediafire.com account: Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire ***http://www.mediafire.com/?54tdwq3vx0xub*** I also changed it in post# 1. Jim Lombardi |
As a backup, I also added your files to my MediaFire share. Thanks Jim.
