OBD II Free Software Suggestion for PC Laptop?

OBD II Free Software Suggestion for PC Laptop?
I am looking for a free, basic OBD II software program to read and clear P codes/check engine light.
I am going to use a Laptop PC running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and a USB 2.0 connected ELM 327 interface.
Jaguar cars to be connected are 2001 and 2002 XJ8s. I have other cars that use OBD II also.
I did try to look at past posts but it is unclear AND I wanted a little more up-to-date info.
