Overhead console - how do you remove it
I am trying to install the mic for the bluetooth factory kit. It requires removing the overhead console to plug the mic in. I have the factory instructions which says to remove the screw over the sunglass holder (which I have), but there are 'clips' holding it in. I pulled on the trim and the right side clips broke free but the front and left clips will not give and I don't want to force it. Is there a technique to getting this off? Please help.

I followed the same steps as you and just pulled the console right out with little difficulty. I believe there are teo aluminum clips towards the front of the console that are kind of tricky to re-install but should come right out upon removal.

I'm doing the same thing currently. Building my own Bluetooth for the car. Pull the console level and towards the rear of the vehicle. The console slides back out of the clips.

hi
does anyone know how to reclip it back in? Thanks |
There seems to be some confusion about what model we are talking about.
The original post was for a "2004 Jaguar XJ8, Midnight Metallic on Dove" First of all this is the wrong forum for the X350. If the post was indeed for the X308 it was not stated. The answers might be wrong. Please list your car and the problem you are having. Digging up a 4 year old post that has multiple models is confusing and might not get too many responses. I don't know what to answer???????????? bob gauff |
