Production numbers
According to Nigel Thorley in his book “Jaguar All The Cars”, my 1998 XJ8 in the long wheel base version is one of only 148 made between 1997-2002. I find that hard to believe. Would anyone know how to verify this? |
Yes, I was also surprised. I have a 1998 LWB too.

The Sovereign specification (11,566) and Vanden Plas specification (21,080) were the ones available. Graham |
Thanks for the reply Graham. I thought this was a base model because it doesn’t have heated seats and it doesn’t say “Sovereign” anywhere on the vehicle. |

It can get so confusing what with the European-only nomenclature, lack of Daimler US licensing leading to further confusion, non-US models and US naming only models! . . |

I thought this was something a previous owner did and wasn't original equipment. But unfortunately we had a grass fire and the cat is half baked. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...f5634c7624.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...28dfb574fd.jpg Hard to read door sticker https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...dafb8236b8.jpg |
