speaker audio system upgrade

Okay i'm tired of the speakers in this car...replaced one last month and now the opposite side is busted now...I'm upgrading to POLK 6.5" all the way around and I'm adding a set of tweeters in the A pillars. The holes are already there all I have to do looks like is cut the leather cover on the pillar to expose the hole the speakers would go in since mine didn't come with the upgraded Harmon Kardon system. My question is this...is the wiring for the tweeters behind the A pillar or will I have to tie into the door speaker? Same for the rear sub wiring...If I decide to put in a 6x9 is there wiring already there or will I have to run it?

thats a good question hopefully someone with more knowledge will come help up, as i would like to know the same thing

why are you putting tweeters in the A pillar? why not replace the ones in the door handle or unless you want 2 sets of tweeters on each side?

another thing, for the rear parcel shelf, your going to use the original holes in the frame that i understand, but are you going to buy a new shelf with the holes already in them or cut one in yourself?

I have 98VDP, and I just finished replacing all door panels. Mine came with Harmon Kardon, and the panels I got had Alpine speakers. I took the Alpines off, and put the original in.
The tweeter in the A pillar is not connected to the door speaker, as far as I could see. I didn't look too carefull though. There is a one set of wires going to the front door speaker, and there is a clear connection between the back door speaker, and the tweeter in the door release handle cradle. Didn't observe anything like that in the front doors.

But like I said,.....I didn't trace the connection, I was more focused on replacing panels, pockets, grab handles and hardware.

well our A panels are all the same, just tweeter cut outs are covered by the leather or vinyl material so you have to cut it out if you don't have the system upgrade. What I'm trying to find out is if anyone that has had their A panel off can remember seeing the wiring for the tweeters there already. It would be easier to plug an play. ALSO if I wanted to upgrade and add a stock 6x9 for the sub since my rear deck has the cut out in the trunk - i would be interested to know if the wiring is there or what. I know I'd have to replace the shelf piece.
