Strange Air Conditioning Issue
Ok, it seems strange but maybe this is something common on these cars??
I've been noticing for awhile that the AC doesn't seem to be getting as cold as it should. The refrigerant pressures are all good and the blower works well. Today I noticed that the drivers side vents are blowing nice and cold as they should, but the air coming from the passenger side vents wasn't nearly as cold. Not hot, but definitely not cold. Anyone else ever experienced this or have any pointers on what to check first? |
Sounds like possibly a blend door? There are a few threads out there, this is just one I grabbed quick, but it could be?

Is the return pipe getting cold or as we call sweating (like condensed water on a cold glass of liquid)?
start from page 1798 in the workshop manual download from the beginning of forum or quick links if it is not cold or sweating I suspect refrigerant charge, which means you have a leak which is usually found at the clutch on the compressor it may have sucked in moisture causing refrigerant contamination also, there is the tx valve can get stuck and also maybe as simple as a vent flap stuck so start at the top and let's go from there Dutchy |
If it is a stuck motor, the thread charlzo posted has instructions for pulling climate control codes. Usually those will indicate if you have a stuck motor, and it's a quick and easy way to start diagnostics. Keep in mind the last 5 codes stay in memory even if the fault is resolved, unless they were cleared after repairs, so there could be old codes showing as well

Hi jagsandjeeps,
it may help us give you more accurate replies if you will please tell us the year, model and engine of your Jaguar. The climate control system designs vary greatly from model to model. Cheers, Don |
