Sunroof not closing

Sunroof not closing
I have a 2008 XJ. After a heavy rain, I arrived to the car and found water in the front passenger foot wells. Was extremely bewildered how water could have gotten in the car but assume that sunroof was not 100% closed.
The next morning arrived to the car and the sunroof was completely open. How was this possible?
My BIG problem now, is that the sunroof will not operate. It is stuck in open mode.
ADDITIONALLY, I cant get the car out of park. It is locked so I can’t even take it to a mechanic or the dealership,
