TSB 303-58 (Throttle Position Signal) harness connectors mismatch

1 Attachment(s)
Hello
Here are some key points I extracted from the TSB:
Technical Bulletin 303-58,
On a customer complaint basis only, install new gold terminals into the TPS wiring harness.

Issue:
On some 1999-2001 XK and XJ vehicles within the above VIN ranges, with AJ-27 engines,
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0121 (Throttle Position Signal) may be present. A possible
cause is a mismatch of electrical connector terminal materials between the Throttle Position
Sensor (TPS) and the wiring harness electrical connector (gold terminals on the TPS and tin

terminals on the wiring harness).

Parts Information:
DESCRIPTION PART NUMBER QTY
Convoluted tube LST 6754AA 1

Gold terminated cable LNG 3956AA 4

Tsb 303-s514

1 Attachment(s)
Hello
I found this write-up on Piston Heads Forum. Apparently One of their forum members copied the TSB 303-S514 is pasted it into the thread.

Here is a summary of it:
Throttle closed position operation

A concern has been identified with the throttle operation on a number of vehicles in the above VIN range.

Under exceptional circumstances this concern could cause the engine to cut out, although the engine will continue to be driven by the road wheels through the transmission and drive the ancillaries, so there will be no loss of power steering, brakes, air conditioning, etc.

The engine should restart without difficulty once
the vehicle has come to a complete standstill.

ZF5HP24 Valve Body Replacement TSB 307-03

1 Attachment(s)
Hi
Here is a TSB (307-03) that covers Transmission Valve Body Replacement on ZF5HP24.

Attachment 22053

Replacing Valve Body - Replacement Procedure - Not in Workshop Manual.

bulletin outlines points to consider when removing and installing a valve body on the ZF5HP24.

This TSB mentions speed sensors a 3 times:

Remove the output speed sensor and oil filter prior to removing the valve body screws.

Ensure that both speed sensors are securely located by their retaining clips. Failure to check this can result in transmission default or substitute function after start up. (Code P0715 Input speed sensor, code P0721 Output speed sensor)

Reinstall the oil filter and tighten to 5-6 Nm and the output sensor and retainer (8 Nm).

Thanks for all the info. Would you or anyone happen to know what the deal is with this warning?

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...ine=1357504104

I just realized yesterday that this sticker is actually hidden under the throttle body fresh air intake tube mounting bracket, not really visible until the bracket is removed. The bracket being on top of the throttle body held down with two torx screws.

In the past I have sprayed throttle body cleaner into the throttle body to clean the butterfly valve. What kind of damage could throttle body cleaner that is sensor friendly do? I can't imagine that it is that serious of a thing.

TSB 303-11 Poor Heater

Here is TSB that forum member motorcarman provided in one of the no-heat threads:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...oor-heater-pdf

Gives procedure on chemical flushing the heater system. Also how to take tempeture reading in varous locations of the heating system. It shows how to pinch-off the various cooling system hoses.

I thought this TSB would be a good one to add to the TSB thread.

TSB 418-03 AM -- VCATS Compatibility (Control Modules)
Interchanging Between Vehicles

Attachment 99746

Interesting reading -

"To cover the many variations in vehicle specification which are available in various markets, information is programmed into the Control Modules (CM) during vehicle manufacture which, in many cases, may be specific to a very limited number of vehicles within a single market.

For example, the Body Processor Module (BPM) of a coupe vehicle does not contain the control system for the power operated soft top of a convertible model.
Should a similar, but not identical, CM from one vehicle be installed in a second vehicle, this may result in various malfunctions in the second vehicle. Since the CM may then ‘learn’ information from the second vehicle, incorrect data would then be transferred back to the first vehicle when the CM is transferred back to its original location.
This is particularly applicable in the case of the Engine Control Module ECM)."

Thanks very much for posting these bulletins! How timely! The memory function on my 2000VDP has changed and the seat will move to the wrong position when using the key fob. I will reset it using the bulletin posted. Thanks much for helping me and the Jag community.
