Like many forum members, I too have great respect for Michelin tires, but some of the Asian brands are now becoming extremely competitive, and at very reasonable prices.

The Hankook Kinergy GT H436 is a V rated (149mph) tire, and boasts extremely low noise and high comfort levels. And at just $88.00 it is a bargain.

I'm surprised they used the 6000 .. never liked them. Mine had Pzero's -- the special Jag tire NLA ...my VDP was an 98 (totaled) .. bought the 02 XJR. I had summer tires and winters on the original rims. My VDP rims had the chrome wheel nut cover.

Back to the point of the OP, check out this new members expected value... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/p...-miles-196334/ ...thus, in his statement, "recently sold at an exotic car show" (I question the term Car Show vs Auction), ..dictates you need to get the car in front of buyers who want the car for what it is. Auctions are timed by specialists like Wayne to try to get a max number of buyers in the room and hope for a bidding frenzy. You always hope for at least 3 and yours is the only car type available. But don't forget to calculate your auction fees.

That's why I suggested "being a trailer" .. has a huge base and anyone looking for a garage queen VDP would be watching. It also cheap vs a typical auction where you give up more.

The x308 at this point in time is just a used car in the valuation curve ...If 40k XJR's go for 12k .... what would a 17k version sell for? 15k? .... The R's are more desirable vs = VDP.

I agree, this is the sort of car that would probably do well on bringatrailer.com. It’s hard to set a value for one with this few miles, but I’d probably set the reserve at $12K or so.

Replacing the tensioners and tires might help the price, but probably won’t add as much as it costs. If I was selling I’d just disclose it and let the buyer deal with them. The buyer for this kind of car is likely to have his own preferences.

Lovely car. Good luck with it, whatever you decide.

P.S. Like just about all of us here, if it *was* mine, you’d have a hard time prying it away from me.

Yep, $12K wouldn't pry it out of my hands if it were mine.
