I think one is called 'male Jaguar Xj8 antenna plug' and the other 'female Jaguar XJ8 antenna plug'

I don't know where you are located, but any good auto electric shop ought to be able provide a connector for the right bayonet plug or splice your new cable to the old male fitting.

it would not make sense if I pay someone anymore than £20 to get it fitted as the current generic replacement unit cost me £16. Plus, I’d rather do it myself if possible!
