Hello guys,

I am continuing my arduous quest for the perfect gift for my dad, which I described here and here.

After I (sighingly) had to drop the gorgeous Series 3 V12, I found the two options in the thread title. Unfortunately I can't try out any of them. My father likes to drive manual, that's for sure, so I'm kinda leaning towards the sport. And it's an X300, which as far as I've read here is the most reliable. Both cars are ok, with ok interiors; both around the 150 k mark. The x308 has an absolutely full service history, gearbox completely redone (with the bills to prove it) 20k ago.

Yes, I also read quite a few posts comparing the x300 with the x308 and definitely leaning towards the first, but didn't see much about the manual gearbox / sport version (any other difference, suspension etc?) in those threads.

So help, please? Any thoughts?
