Seems the plumbing is a huge obstacle with this project. Power steering, coolant, refrigerant, automatic transmission fluid cooler, air intake and exhaust. That’s a tall order. Keep it up.
For me, the journey is most of the fun. I built a Factory Five Racing Shelby Cobra. Once I finished it, it was kind of a let down. Did the transmission cooler today. I have an oil cooler from my XJR parts car. That’s my next step. Also just bought a used K&N cold air intake that will fit right in.
How you are controlling engine, transmission and compressor? And do you deal with the warning lights or do you leave them be?
Vauxi you posted the above on another of my threads and I think you meant it to be here.
Engine and transmission use LS ECU and TCU.
Jaguar wires are spliced into the LS ECU for ignition power, brake status input, AC request, fuel pump relay, parking brake input, radiator fans. The original Jaguar wiring is used for the oil pressure switch, alternator and starter.
The kit comes with a CAN interface that connects the LS ECU to the Jaguar CAN. It handles tach, speedo, extra warning lights and error messages, check engine light and parking brake waring light. The original OBD plug stays for what is left Jaguar. Another OBD plug in added for the engine and transmission.
Cruise control has been done, but it's a bear.
Love the project. If my XJR decides to poop the bed before I sell it then I'll do the same swap.
Do you still have the parts car?
Thanks. Still have the parts car. Going to use the wheels, interior and some other minor parts in the project car. Except for pulling the dash, not the much work to switch the interiors. Probably also going to keep rear end if the one in the project car ever goes bad. Everything else is for sale. XJR engine, transmission and rest are listed on Marketplance and eBay. Less on Marketplace because no eBay fees. Have had two offers on the engine for $2000 that I turned down. In no hurry, my barn/garage has plenty of storage room or when this project done, I might look for a great body/interior XJR/XKR with a bad engine/tranny.

That should not be a problem as a lot of Jaguar owners tend to care for it's appearance with very little respect for drivetrain
maintenance and upkeep. Some shops will not even touch a Jaguar and when they do, they charge twice as much.

Oh there is a kit. Then is is okay when essential systems is working aka abs etc. Yes I might wrote it in the wrong topic
Purchased the XJR parts car for the rims and interior. Was glad to find when arrived had Pirellis with plenty of tread. Three of the rims had curb rash. Switched worse with spare. Used vixen file. Worked great. Going to finish up with some sand paper.
Looking like good progress being made! Am getting ready to get mine started in a couple weeks.
Excited to hear someone else and the site is taking this journey. If you want to chat, send me a PM with your phone number.
Assume your doing the Jaguar Specialites. Andrew is great in answering questions.
Do you have your engine and tranny? If not, look on CoPart for a salvage one car. I got the Camaro for $7400 and have sold $5840 in parts off it on eBay. Also see my post on the big $ you can get for the cats.
Thanks! I will reach out. Although I've got a low post count, I've been here lurking a long time and this has been something I've wanted to do for years. Yes, I will be using Andrew's kit. He's been great.
That sucks about the door. When Coventry West was open, they sold a thick, solid, predrilled rectangular metal plate that you’d install as a brace and it works very well. Some people will say that you can just install some oversized or fender type washers and it’s good enough but, it’ll be temporary in comparison.

I did the fender washers on my 2003 and it has worked fine. On that car just loose and not pulled through. This car needs more. My brother has a mill so I plan on cutting a plate like the Coventry West.
