Smile XJR Tires 255/45/18

Hello,
Did anybody installed 255/45/18 tires on 1998 XJR?
245/45/18 looks ok for Pirus and 255/40/18 too skinny and expensive
Thanks

Hi
I have on my car tires whit this dimension. 245 45 18 is a little bit bigger than 255 40 18, so the km will not be real but the ride in comfortable.
255 40 18 = 661.2mm = 26.03 inches
245 45 18 = 677.7mm = 26.68 inches
255 45 18 will be to big 687.7mm = 27.07 inches.
One inch between normal dimension and 255 45 18

Make sure the load rating is sufficient. I was informed of this by Tirerack. I was thinking of going with a different size and noticed the big difference in load ratings. The Jag is heavy and if your carrying passengers just be aware.

I put on my Asteroid rims 255 45 18 summer tires. The ride is comfortable i like this size. Most of the time i drive the car inside the city.

I have run 255/45/18s on my 2000 XJR before. They were fine. The speedometer was off by 2 mph and it was a tiny bit more sluggish off the line (due to the increased rolling diameter effectively altering the gear ratio), but other than that no effect. They do ride a little better than the factory size of 255/40/18, but at the expense of a little bit of feel and transitional ability.
