Yet another suspension noise ?!

Ok I have new shocks, mounts isolators/spring seats in the front & rear as well as new tires w/ proper inflation. Now not even 100 miles since the rear strut work I now get a faint knock/rattle in the driver side rear. Car's riding/handling excellent, but this noise has to go. I didn't notice it directly after the recent work but that may be because I was used to the loud clunk from the bad rear struts. Now that the loud clunk's remedied maybe I notice the knock now ?!

I will try & get a video/audio of it if possible.

Any usual suspects back there to check for , tie rods, control arms etc. ?!

Thanks !

Edit :
Also of note, my hand brake is very hard to pull back & fully engage could this be related to the noise ?!

Any play in the wheel after all the work was done? There's lots of bushings in the rear to check.. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...d-swap-166574/

Truss bushings, main carrier bushings, hub knuckle pivot bearing, control arm bushings, etc.

You could check the handbrake connection and cabling to see if it is loose causing the rattle, if everything is set up properly maybe the cable housing going from the drums is kinked? Or less likely, the parking brake drum hardware is binding up?

Check the donuts hanging the exhaust. Mine rattled.

There a diagram anywhere online ? I don't see one when searching the forum.

There's 2 either side, the furthest back are mounted on the rear bumper brackets, the other two are on top of the diff carrier. Follow the exhaust pipes.
The lower shock bolt loosened? This can back off giving a feint knock. Is it up high or down low, outboard or inboard?

I had a similar issue a few years ago after replacing the fuel pumps. I had placed my jack stands where I shouldn't on the connector frame (not for sure, but I believe the rubber mount bracket just in front of the rear wheel) because I was using the jack point for just that purpose.
Apparently I had bent that piece and I got this clunk in the rear. My Inde' spotted it when I had him replacing the rear seals and he corrected it.

A bit too much ambient noise, but around the 1 minute mark it's audible. I may try again w/ the phone set in the back seat to avoid my holding it towards there making noise when my jacket moves on the seat.

Have you checked your flex discs?

Negative, would that be something noticeable when I had the tranny rebuilt like when they were removing/installing etc. in that region ?! He said everything looked "clean". I'll add that to the list, the noise has to go !

What steering column have you got between the rack and upper column? The old style with bellows will knock and rattle.

Sure it is from the rear? My column 'threw' the sound around the car so it was hard to localise.

If you haven't reviewed this thread, it may be a good idea.... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...g-info-188400/ ...I added about the flex discs afterward.

I'm thinking it's rear based because it's instantly heard when in reverse, where as in forward motion it takes a while to present itself.

I think this vid's a bit better.

Seems to be rear driver's side.
