With the XJ220 the odds have always been more cars than buyers.

True, I guess, but only because of the price (creeping up swiftly).
I mean, wouldn't you, if you had the money?
I would buy 5 of these instead of 1 Bugatti Veyron.
It's just so damned pretty.
Actually I would buy 4 and 1 XJ13

I'm not sure I'd call it pretty, but it's growing on me. I am surprised that it held the Nurburgring lap time record for so long, and is still amongst the fastest cars to go around it!

I remember when I was about 8 years old, my parents bought me an XJ220 diecast model. Perhaps that was the beginning of it all???

I wonder if I still have that thing--it's probably all beat up!

That dealer is about 40 miles from me. I'd be happy to check it out and test drive it for any interested buyers.

The 220 is certainly an affordable (?) way to get into the supercar game.

I've had the opportunity of spending time behind the wheel of one. It's not exactly a pleasure cruise.....but I guess supercars aren't really supposed to be.

I don't know when but remember seeing a gray '94 XJ220 less than 200 grand on ebay , for the price the car was bargain
Well, those era cars aren't pleasure to drive same goes for F40 . The XJ220 lacked some cool accessories as well , for safety note no ABS
Pierre Henry Raphanel in his own word (speaking of Bugatti Veyron ) says a grandma drove this car and she was driving like I am driving now
Actually, it should be pleasure to drive a Veyron because you would not feel tiredness nor wrestle the car as opposed to these followings XJ220, Diablo,F40 Same era cars , may be these cars were last representatives of an era and it is not a coincidence why these were anything but pleasure to drive

Back to the main course , I would prefer XJ220 over Veyron it's a legendary car whereas Veyron is a testimony of what german engineers can do with lots of gadgets , why I am saying this you even need a special key to exceed 360 km/h lol

XJ220 may not be a a proper car for your daily commute but Veyron should be

The Veyron is more docile, yes.

Yes, the 220 is from a different era when supercars were limited use monsters and that was part of the appeal. Nowdays you can go to a (let's say) Chevy dealer and buy a Corvette which nearly matches the performance and is much more livable and enjoyable, IMHO.

It's really not even fair to compare 20-22 y/o supercars to today's offereings, I reckon. Technology has changed.

Cheers
