1990 XJ40 Antenna Relay Schematic

The previous owner had a problem with the antenna not working. The local Jag "Specialist" that worked on it replaced the stock unit with an unknown manufactures general replacement unit. That worked for a few months then quit. He took it back and the "Specialist" told him the output from the radio was bad and the radio needed replacement. He declined to replace it at that time for he desired a newer CD unit.

I got back into the trunk ( boot ) and found the relays laying on the bottom of the fender well. Wire splices and jumpers. Powering it directly from a battery, the antenna unit would drive up and down but it has no electrical stops for either up or down. I am not sure if this is the stock unit but photos of them it looks so, or how the relay logic is designed to work.

Does some one have a complete schematic of this circuit? I have worked many years in electronics and have a good working knowledge of relay logic.

Thanks

Exactly what I was looking for....

Thanks for the direction.

Noticed that his site just has the maintenance books that are related to the electrical systems, is there a place that has all the book on line? In time I do expect to need additional guidance on other systems.

Well there is always the FAQ at the top of this forum, and also follow the Download link in my signature.

You will find all sorts of goodies to read. FOC.

All download sections are continuously maintained but we are reliant on members supplying the files for addition to the sections.

The XJ40 E-Book is well worth a look.

I've also just noticed that I still need to upload a couple of extra manuals that I have not got around to.

Slacking I know :( I'll get onto it now.
