Default 1993 Jaguar XJ6 speaker wire polarity

Good evening.

So I upgraded the 6 1/2" door speakers this weekend. The original speakers hooked up with an existing harness that just snapped together. Unfortunately my new speakers came with the new plug style.. one larger, one smaller. So earlier this week I was looking for a post that documented which color wires were positive and negative. Couldn't find a thing for this year. So, after careful analysis, I found a small (+) sign on the original speakers and figured out which wire of the original harness aligned up. So I wanted to post result.

Front Left. Slate/Purple = positive, Slate/Red = negative
Front Right. Slate/Pink = positive, Slate/Orange = negative
Rear Left. Pink/Purple = positive, Slate/Black = negative
Rear Right. Pink/Purple = positive, Slate/Black = negative

All the best,

Fred

Fred:
Just wanted to say thanks because this spring I will go to replace a blown front speaker myself!

Cheers,
Scott

Default You are more than welcome.

The change was easire than I thought. Door panels came off easily and 6 1/2 Alpines alighed right up. I had to drill a couple of new screw holes in the new speaker frames but it was easy. They sound great.
