1994 TEVES Brake Conversion?
Hey Folks,
I am having trouble with my 1994 XJ12 TEVES bake system, the car sat for 5 years and now I have problems with the system. have done all the bleeding and so forth, starting to think maybe the "master cylinder" Accumulator mite be bad, brakes always soft and sometimes fluid comes out of the top of the cap. read somewhere about converting the system to the good ole vacuum assist power brakes. have any of you done this? thanks, Dave |
I saw a thread awhile back about this conversion. I think he used a booster from a Series 3 xj. Try searching this or the Series forum. It shouldn't be too hard to find. BTW, did you bleed the rears properly? It calls for 2 people and cant really be done by gravity. Good luck.

figured I would ask and search to cover all the options. any other recommendations? I read some where that the pressure ball might be bad on the accumulator. thanks, Dave |
The accumulator is prolly shot. Theyve gotten cheaper lately. They used to cost double. Anyway, stick with the Teves. Once repaired, it should be good to go. I had similar thoughts too when mine was acting up. |
