1994 XJ12 side Badge?

above you will see a photo of the 2 side badges on my Jag. there are the standard "Leaper" and then the Bigger one with the Crown. the Bigger one is a vent and yes, there is a opening in the panel. are these Factory? is this a "Gold" or "Insignia" edition? I have looked but found no other cars with these vents. PS, don't mind the rust, that's next on the list. thanks, Dave - my car specs below. |
Hi - I don't think that looks like a Jag part - could it be that the previous owner "customized" the car with a part from something like a Crown Victoria?

Larry that's why I asked, no idea what they are or why they are there. one each side and they are in-set into the Panel. I have not found any other photo's of a Jag or anything else with these. they do have a crown on them in a shield, so I thought might be factory add-on item. thanks, Dave |
UPDATE - NOT Factory, and NO Holes in the Panel.
just a metal screen and black fabric backing. now to get some acetone and get the sticky stuff off. Dave |
Thank you for removing those things!! Sometimes an owner's customization is in poor taste to many. The link shows how a prior XJ12 owner gold-plated just about everything on the car that should be chrome. The only correct gold would be the growler badges, and (I think) the small V12 emblem on the B-pillar.
