89 xj6 fuses
 

I am starting a restoration on an 89 xj6. First problem is electrical. I have direct shorts in the left and right fuse boxes. Unfortunately the covers that indicate fuse allocation are gone. I have downloaded several schematics but none show the circuit other than by a number. I cant tell which number is which. I am looking for a picture of the fuse box covers with enough clarity where i can read the data. Or a diagram that shows fuse allocation/power flow to tell which component is causing the short. Originally posted in xj6 forum. Not being a jag expert
i didnt know after 1987 they were called xj40. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an early XJ40 on hand to photograph the fuse box cover labels, but you can download the official Electrical Guide at the link below. Pdf page 7 shows the A-pillar fuse boxes, and by following from the fuses that are blowing to their respective schematic pages you should be able to identify the circuit(s) involved:
