Brake/ABS Light - SOLVED

Another annoying issue I put off for a year. I read up on it several times throughout the year though, using the search feature here. When I hit my brakes with even the slightest force those 2 lights would come on, then go away. I could actually hear the relay click under my knees filling the accumulator ball up over and over while at a stop light. I took one from a 92 at the bone yard, after finally breaking that nut it came off in one minute. I took the cap off my brake fluid filler tank, disconnected the battery and took mine off. I put the new one on, pumped the brakes until it was hard, reconnected the battery...no more lights.

$10 repair

I am getting those same Brake and ABS lights on my dash too when I hit the brakes. The accumulator ball / sphere has a warning on it that it has brake fluid under pressure and to not loosen or remove. What procedure did you use to relieve the pressure before you removed the accumulator ball? Also, is the ball held in place by just that hex nut/bolt on top?

Thanks for your info. I was having those lights in both mine. In the 92, I simply bled the brakes out as I've had the car a bit more than 10 years now. Anyway that fixed My lights on that. I tried the same on the 94 but still have the brake light there. I may end up doing the swap on that. I was also able to pull a used one from my local yard. Good to know it should work.
