Well folks, winter up here last winter was definately hard on Cin,s poor buggy!

After pushing snow all winter, seems some parts went missing from the spoiler, not to mention that it was hanging on by a thread, and broken to bits!

Last sunday,up she goes! I pulled the spare part from Redd, and set to work.

The spare was in good shape, but these things were put together with hokey fasteners, the kind with a push in grommet and wood screw! On a 150MPH car? Not good enough!:icon_no:

Soooo, with big box of POP rivits and backing washers in hand,I put the part together in a permanent fashion, nice and solid!

As the easy way to access anything under the car requires removal of the whole part anyway, why not make it one part?

So a quick pressure wash, then a little color-match paint, and then it's on the car.Bumper off first(2 bolts)then remove the old part(14 screws) and on with the new one!

Having a helper(Cindy)around is a big help!

I did manage to push out the dent in the fender while I was under there anyway, not perfect, but looks better than it did!

Took some pics too,enjoy,
Cheers ,Jim an Cin.

Nice job there Jim, the screws and plastic push-nuts(?) in the small l&r access panels are almost always messed up, I know mine were (are).

I had to go in there when I replaced the burned out fog lights and some other job as well (purge valve/canister maybe?) so I can understand your frustration!

cheers

Great job, Jim!

The pop-rivets are a much better idea.

I have to ask: in the eighth photo it appears the car is levitating. How do you make it do that???? :-)

Cheers,

Don

Thanks guys, no complaints since the job got done. All I can say is CHECK the thing once in awhile.

Car show in less than a month, working on my levitation skills,Ha ha,I think Cin missed a pic of my butt by mistake! (weird cam angle)

Cheers All,Jiman Cin

Hello, for my part, I prefer to leave these pieces in plastic, with a dismountable system. Because once a year, I dismantle and find wetland in the interior that causes corrosion. In fact good job too
