correct repair manuals

Hey Folks.
I was searching the inter-web looking for repair manuals for my 1994 XJ12.

do any of you know the correct repair manuals to have?

I have found Haynes for XJ6 for 1994 but none specifically for the XJ12.

I need one for 1994 XJ12 made in January 1993.

you thoughts please.

Thanks, Dave

I bought cd rom JTP1008. Very thorough and includes parts and service manuals and handbooks for the XJ12. I sometimes prefer to have a physical manual, but this is cheaper than buying the separate manuals, and I print out sections from the CD to use in the garage.

Thanks Guys,
I am primarily looking for a cheap Haynes type manual or something along those lines.
BUT, the factory set is the best although expensive.

Thanks, Dave

I doubt you’ll find any cheap Haynes style book for a car like this. They weren’t ever intended to be serviced outside the dealer network, the XJ12 of these years were VERY rare and publishers wouldn’t make anything with the low volume of printing service manuals for them.

Even the factory publications can be pretty lacking in detail because it was assumed that workshop technicians would be sent to the Jaguar training facility in NJ. That’s why you often see phrases like “Remove in the usual manner” instead of every step listed and described as you would in a GM/Ford/Chrysler service manual. The real thorough information is in the hard to find Training Manuals they gave out at school.

It comes with the territory of owning a Jag of this vintage, and even more so with the V12.

I know what you mean, back in the 90's I worked for Subaru and went to the Tech School in Mass. they gave us a 3 ring binder full of tech pages and said DON'T LOSE THEM.
so I guess i'll have to get the factory set...

thanks, Dave

I have the Jaguar Factory set of green 3 ring binder XJ6-XJ12 but I am missing book #2.
I have 1,3,4,5 for the 1993-1994 3.2, 4.0, 6.0. If anyone knows where I can get the BOOK 2 please let me know.

The publication number JJM 10 04 11/30 series.

I have book 1 up to section 12.2 and then book 3 from section 44.1 onward.

The dealership I worked at was throwing them in the trash years ago when we went to 'online-repair-manuals' and I rescued them. (along with ALL the other paper books/manuals/TSBs)
I think someone 'BORROWED' the BOOK 2 and never brought it back.

I am also missing BOOK #5 in the earlier XJ40 series (JJM 10 04 05/90 series) for the 1988-1992. (maybe the same person 'BORROWED' that one also?)

Other than that I have the complete set of green 3 ring binders for ALL Jaguar Models 1987-1994 XJ sedan and XJ-S.

I would like to have a complete set and hopefully someday somebody will want to keep the originals and not just a .pdf copy of info.
Paper seems so 1990s but I like paper.
