Hand Brake/E-Brake
 

I did not mention this in any of my previous posts but I think its time I did.
When I replaced the rear wheel hub bearings. I noticed that the PO's mechanic or someone else removed and never reinstalled the e-brake hardware.
Over the past month, I hunted down and gathered all of the necessary hardware with the exception of 2 pieces.
Looking at the e-brake diagram on Jaguarclassicparts the missing pieces are not shown.
In the diagram the cable #4 goes through the rear hub carrier and is affixed to the hub carrier with clip #23
The cable has an eye that is supposed to be connected to a hinged mechanism located by the lower end of the brake shoes.
The missing pieces are the pins that attach the cable to this hinged mechanism
Attached is a pic of the piece and does anyone know where I can purchase these pins?

I don't see a listing for that pin either. Could you get a pin from your local hardware store? If not, I may be able to supply them. Ill have to check my stash tomorrow...

From what I was told, the pin is a precision fit. Even though it does not have a head,when installed it does not fall through. It does not have a head like a clevis pin.
I have not seen how it is put together to determine whether there is room for a regular clevis pin to work in lieu of the original, but I am willing to devise or try something that would.
Does anyone have a pic or schematic of the completed e-brake assembly as installed on the backing plate? I still have to figure out what goes where but I have no reference to work with.

I have dug through my stash and laid fingers on 1 of these pins. I have also found a bolt of an extremely close diameter which could be ground off and used as a pin. The Haynes manual has several pics of the area. Have you looked at Jaguar Heritage parts? Maybe try calling SNGBarrats or Xks unlimited and ask for it. Who knows, maybe it's just hard to look up...

@ Jerry: Are you willing to part with the one you have? Having one will allow me to search for something that would work. As it is, I do not have a clue as to what it looks like.

I will certainly send it to you. I took pics, but for some reason they wont import to my computer (probably user error). The pin is a plain steel cylinder and fits in those rings, where you would expect it to. It is trapped there on installation when its arm is folded into the larger section. I will send you the bolt that I found too if you want to grind it down, unless you have one. It is a fuel rail hold down bolt. Don't worry about cost. Its small enough to fit in a small padded envelope. Just PM your address and Ill get it sent off.
