How junk yard dogs remove a starter from a XJ40
So I am currently spending a little time in a local junk yard in an effort to remove a cylinder head from a 1993 XJ6 that is sitting in the yard for quite a few years.
When I first looked at it I found that the intake manifold had the back third of the intake and fuel rail totally broken up, Today I found out why this car is like this. Apparently if the junk yard dogs who work there decide it's too difficult to get to the starter they do this. I just have to believe this took more effort than actually removing the intake manifold. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...e3d6e8dc8c.jpg Destroyed intake manifold |
They don't want to get their clothes dirty by crawling under the car:) Yup, I see this all the time in metro Detroit. It's particularly maddening when they just rip off interior trim that you just happen to need.
