Installing amp in boot.

Hello,

I'll be installing an external two channel amplifier in the boot of my '94 XJ40 soon and am in the planning stage. I want to do this myself as a fun project. I find jobs like this help me get to know my car better and I love music.

I'm going to leave the Jaguar head unit I got from a 1996 XJ (part no.: DBC10427). The speakers are polkaudio db651, 5 1/2 " coaxials.

The amp is a polkaudio PA330 Class AB MOSFET, 200 watt in 4 ohms.

Since the DBC10427 has no line level outputs, I'll be using the speaker level inputs to the amp.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use an adapter for the CD input to hook up a 3.5mm jack for an iPod?

Also, does anyone have experience, tips, pictures of an amp install using custom brackets in an XJ40?

As always, thanks in advance for any help/knowledge.

Cheers!

As long as there is an external input on the CD player you can you any combination of jacks from whatever source you want to send audio from.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I guess I wasn't clear. The factory radio (head unit) has one input It is an 8 -pin DIN connector. My question is whether I can use this input to hook up an iPod or other device. What I'm hoping for is some kind of adapter that goes from DIN to either RCA or 3.5mm. Don't know if that's possible.

I hope that better describes my issue.

Cheers!
