JaguarSport / MOMO Steering Wheel for Pre-Airbag Cars
I'm curious if anyone knows what adapter or hub, if any, would be required to fit a JaguarSport MOMO or generic MOMO wheel to a pre-airbag XJ40.
I'm seeing quite a few nice new wheels overseas, in the correct Isis Blue for my car. I've gotten very used to the much smaller diameter and thicker rim of my X305 leather/wood wheel. The stock non-airbag XJ40 wheel is humongous and thin in comparison. There are quite a few nice looking generic MOMO wheels out there too, some with leather/wood too. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...e3dbdaae9a.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...5fe69006d3.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...124b33a44b.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...8fd010528d.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...54cd356a07.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...29808a2b39.jpg -Nick |
Nick - did you look at Ren's thread on these steering wheels? He mounted one on his car a while back.

Thanks! I did not see that one. From what I can gather, he needed a Nardi adapter for the Momo wheel.
I wonder if the JaguarSport Momo wheel is a direct bolt-on? -Nick |
He hasn't been on lately, why not PM him?

oh and post #8 in that thread has some details you might need?

Skipped right past that part, Lawrence! Thank you.
I'll have to give them a call or email and see what's needed to fit these wheels. I will post back with any information I get. Thanks! |
So I was able to answer a few questions I had.
The JaguarSport wheel uses a standard MOMO 6-bolt mounting pattern, which is the same as Sparco and NRG. Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40) 87-89: MOMO Part # 2202 Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40) 90-94: MOMO Part # 2207 I'd bet Jaguar has a special JaguarSport part number for both of those adapters, but I haven't yet found any information on them. Nick: Glad you got your questions answered. It took the better part of two months for the adapter to come from Nardi in Italy. I really enjoy the 13.75" wheel vs the original bus size wheel. Ren
