PCV valve for xj40 sovereign 1990
Hi everyone, quick question from a noob. Where do I get a new PCV valve for this girl from? is it a standard size? PCV is one thing I have admittedly never even looked at in my life with any car, so I'm not sure how to source one. any relevant specs would be great. xx

Alrighty so the weather has been awful and I haven't had a chance to get into any of this. I do however keep seeing my symptoms come up when pcv valve malfunction or hose leak is mentioned. I'm interested in adding that to my to-check list, but I'm not sure what kind of PCV valve we have in a 4.0L xj40 sov. Anyone got a pic and explanation for me? Tomorrow if the storm dies down a little I'll be getting into the throttle body and ICV after work.

A quick call to Jagdaim would be my first stop. Doug Findlay knows his stuff, if they don't have one he will know where to point you.
He will also know if there a generic one you can get. Jaguar Spare Parts Supplier - Jagdaim - Australia's Largest Independant http://www.jagbits.com/jaguarpcvvalve.php |

There is no PCV valve on an XJ40. Crankcase breathing is managed by a series of pipes, hoses and restrictors which are designed to maintain a slightly negative air pressure in the crankcase under varying running conditions. I believe the info is in the Engine Management System manual: AJ6 4.0L Engine Management System/OBDI Diagnostic Guide Cheers, Don |

Hi BeckBeck,
I moved the relevant posts from the Stalling thread to this thread so all the info regarding the mythical XJ40 PCV valve is in the same thread. Cheers, Don |
