Power Antenna
 
My power antenna would not go up so i removed it and found that the motor is froze bought a replacement of ebay but will not go up or down when radio is turned on or off checked power to relays it's there, checked relays by jumping could hear clicking, i wired the red wire to the green/red wire and the green wire to the green/blue wire and black to ground o forgot to mention ebay said replacement for 89 xj40 but I'm sure by the looks it's universal any suggestions on wiring...... I did splice new one into original connector I'll take pictures if necessary

Hi pixiesjag,

Not to be a nag, but the use of periods, capitalization and line breaks are highly valued on this forum in order to promote ease of reading and clarity of message.

You should be able to test the voltages at the antenna motor harness connector to confirm that voltage is present during the 20 seconds or so after the radio is turned on or off. The polarity of the voltage changes depending on the direction of motor rotation, and this change in polarity is accomplished via two relays mounted on or near the antenna motor. One is the UP relay and the other is the DOWN relay. If you have no power at the connector, check Fuse 6 in the Right Fuse Box, which may have blown due to your seized motor.

At the link below you can download the wiring diagrams. The antenna motor schematic is on pdf page 61, and the relevant fuse is shown on pdf page 7.
