rims and tyres for 1987 sovereign

Hi
Can anyone advise me on what rims will fit on a 1987 sov. The current tyres are TD 220 / 65R 390. The local tyre dealer here hasn't seen them in 20 yrs and advised that i change the rims. I am hoping someone anyone knows either what rims will fit or when i can get the original tyres. BTW i live in rural West Australia.
Thanks in advance
Richard Bowles

Hi Richard,

Seems you have the metric size wheels/tyres. Hopefully, this will help:

Thanks
I have managed to find 4 rims from a X300 which i have been told will do the trick for $500
Cheers

Hi Richard,

I put X300 16-inch "Dimple" wheels on our '93 XJ40 and have been very happy with them. They fit perfectly on our car, with the exception of the front right corner where the hub grease cap fits a little tightly into the wheel and sometimes pops off when I remove the wheel. Otherwise we've been running these wheels for years with no issues and so far it's been easy to find tires to fit, though the number of manufacturers making higher-profile tires is dwindling as low-profile tires become the standard.

Cheers,

Don
