XJ40 Ford parts?
 

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question about xj40`s. Recentely i heard that on some jags (inlucding xj40) parts can be used from Ford models. Does anyone have any information about it?(what models too look, what parts to expect).

First of all, welcome to the forum. Be sure to introduce yourself in the intros section.

From what I've read, Ford helped improve quality in the XJ40, but couldn't have had much influence over design as the car was developed well before Ford's ownership. I think the S and X-types borrowed much more from Ford's "parts bin" so to speak.

I agree with Scott.

It might be that the XJ40s had a couple Ford odds and ends as Jaguar has borrowed some parts from different manufacturers for decades. But, as Scott says, Ford didn't get elbow-deep until later.

nothing on my 91 xj40 has ford written on it. or on my 94 xj12. but it looks like my xj8 has masda tail lights
