Anyone with straight exhaust that can comment on the noise inside and outside of the cabin? want to gain a few extra hp at the risk of my jaguar sounding like a douchebag as it goes down the road as if somebody was farting in a can.

 

It will be louder for sure, inside and out. A 6 cyl with straight pipes isn't those most attractive sound, my opinion. A 8cyl is a different story.
Cats do absorb quite a bit of sound, and you already know mufflers do.
If you cut them properly, if you don't like it you can always put them back on.

 

I would leave your exhaust as is. They don't sound that great. Have a look on utube.the noise is out of character with such a beautiful car in my opinion . Cheers

 

Personally Im a stealth kind of driver. I like the fact that at 80+ my car is almost silent inside.

Replace the factory mufflers with Magnaflow mufflers is my best advice.

 

So I decided not to go for a straight exhaust and put a dvd player in my 40 instead. :-D
