I'm starting out on a 1969 XJ6 with a 400ci GM engine and the original Borg-Warner 3sp. manual transmission. I am sketchy on details right now because I have not actually made the deal and haven't crawled under it yet, but it is mine if I decide to get it. The present owner started restoring it, and according to him, the car runs and drives. I have seen the paint and it is in good condition except for one door where the paint has peeled. The interior is wrecked although the seats have been re-upholstered. One thing it needs for certain is a rear bumper. I have a quote from a place in the UK for almost $1000.00 for all three pieces of the bumper, but was hoping to get it (and other parts) cheaper than having them shipped across the pond. I have been cruising the net for a while for XJ6 S1 parts, but have largely come up empty. Are there any good suggestions here? I am going to have another look at the car this weekend and need to let this guy know if we are going to make the deal.
Thanks in Advance.

Series 1 parts are tough. We carry only the later stuff. Jose may have some sources for the older vehicles.

thanks Ken, did you find a good dash wood panel for alabbasi ? (Series 3 XJ ??)
George: for Series 1 XJused parts, I would try Jaguar Heaven in California. (www.jaguarheaven.com).they might have a good rear bumper. you willfind one sooner or later.
Trivia: the first Series 1 XJ-12 (1968) was grabbed off the production line by none other thanWilliam Lyons, the founder/owner of Jaguar. The car is at the JDHT museum in the UK. here's a picture of the car:
