1985 Series 3 Vacuum Diagram
In my last post I removed the intake manifold to replace the freeze plugs. Prior to doing this, the engine was idling properly at about 800 rpm. Having put everything back together and knowing that I had a vacuum diagram for my car which I had used before, I wasn't too concerned about the vacuum hose routing.
Guess what? Most of my Jaguar files along with others have disappeared from my home computer after I upgraded to Windows 10. (it sucks) My son who works with computer software told me that I would have to wait until he gets back from NY to find the files because he backed up all of them prior to the upgrade and he has it. Not sure when he will be back.
So much for that. So now the engine is idling at 2000 rpm, and I know for sure it is a vacuum routing issue. I have purchased vacuum hoses of different sizes to replace all of the deteriorated ones and I am stuck.
Does anyone have a clear, hose for hose routing diagram like the one I had? I downloaded it from somewhere or from someone on this forum, but I have been searching for days for it to no avail. If anyone knows where to find it, could you please post it?
Thanks

SIII Vacuum Decals
There are others bouncing around out there but this one was easy to find. I'll try to find the others.

I have a '86 and I am confounded as to where the vacuum tube to the cruise control bellows attaches to the engine. The hose from the metal tube on the passenger side is just gone and I have not been able to discover where it plugged in to the...intake manifold probably? thanks!

jaguar XJ6 series 3 vacuum fittings top of manifold
jaguar XJ6 series 3 vacuum fittings bottom of manifold
Thank you David. I missed that fitting. In my case that hose goes forward to the evap system canister in front of the right front tire. I see 5 small size connections to the manifold around there 3 on top and two on bottom. On my '86 XJ6 series 3 as referenced in this photo 1 heads forward to evap charcoal cannister. That's the one i think you described. 2 heads to the plastic "distributor vacuum regulator" hanging on the underside of the manifold. 3 connects to a switch on the fuel rail, and continues to the fuel pressure regulator. In the second picture taken upwards at the intake manifold from under the car, 4 as you can see connects to the distributor vacuum regulator also. 5 is plugged. I have heard it referred to as a drain for oil collecting in the manifold. Am I not seeing a nipple the vacuum tube from the cruise control would plug into? Maybe a "T" was deleted if there are no other fittings. Thank you for your help. I am trying to document this for others who might have this problem, forgive me if I seem verbose!

84 XJ6 S3: I have a fitting coming out of the aft side of throttle body, it has a 1.5 inch hose, then a Tee. One line from Tee goes to right wheel well evap system, the other line goes to the Distributor Vacuum Regulator valve just above the # 4 marking on your second picture. Then the # 1 fitting hose connects to cruise control.
Here are two diagrams that confirm most of your routing. Rgds David
