Hi! New member here! I have a chance to purchase a '96 VP (xj6) with 30,000 orig miles -I have researched '97's which are highly favored -are 96's and and '97's pretty much the same in terms of engineering, reliability etc? Opinions? Thanks!

 

Same car, virtually, '96-'97. I'm sure there were some small changes but nothing that would alter reliability

thanks, was curious about this as so many people cite the '97 as a very reliable year/car -this car has only 30,000 miles, garaged, elderly owner now deceased for 8,500 US dollars

 

96/97 are virtually identical and VERY reliable, Ide venture to say the MOST reliable Jaguar ever produced. But even at 30k time takes out just as much stuff as mileage. And even for 30k $8500 is about $3000 too high compared to even a excellant condition one. But thats rare so IF you really want it its fair
