i have a friend in central Florida, recycle/junkyard, he says he gets anywhere from one to three old jags per month, been doing it for 15-20 yrs.
he sells the complete takeout rear suspension cage, for the hotrodders.
whats left goes into the crusher, sometimes he sells engine/trans, but not often!
when i left Florida i had three V12 jag engines with two transmissions, tried to sell nobody interested, so he gave me $75. dollars for the lot!
i almost cried to see them go into the shredding machine!
remember junk is junk,, just because we see value, does not mean the rest of the world does!

Looks like that old Jaguar hit something up front. Doesn't look all that bad. but, if it's PO did not have the skill to fix it, the labor to do so would have been prohibitive. Along with the front suspension a lot of little stuff seems harvested.
Had I not "'converted" my car in 2001, it may have ended up in a similar place.
I sold off some stuff. Gave some away. But, there were no takers for
a functional BW66. The engine, well, a core at best...
Still have some little bits. Starter spoken for, if ever.....

Stigram, you have done a brilliant job saving that old girl. I also believe XJ`s look best in Green. Deep down it`s really the reason I bought my XJ8. Oh I know the reasons the wife thinks I bought it for - big back doors to get my Mum in, plenty of power, lightweight body so good fuel consumption, local specialist garage who is an old friend etc etc - but my heart won when I saw it.
My advice to you? keep your XJ as original as you possibly can - you clearly have a driveable motor there. Well done for all your hard work!
